Walking into the Central Cafe is like taking a step back in time - except that most customers will recognize more than a few familiar faces. The Central is Middleboro's version of the place "where everyone knows your name."
The Central Cafe is the oldest cafe in Middleboro. The first customers to walk through the door did so in 1923. The comfortable booths wear the patina of age. The handsome mahogany bar with chestnut rail was purchased by the former owner Angelo Doscoulias' father in Boston for his son's new Middleboro establishment over 70 years ago.
The exterior of the new cafe was remodeled in 1997 to create an Irish pub-style entrance that hints at the informal atmosphere of a neighborhood bar from another era. Sometimes the prices seem reminiscent of another time as well. The Central's famous cheese pizza - a long time staple of post-event celebrations for local little league team members and spectators alike. The price, just $2 all day on Monday for eat-in customers. On Tuesday and Wednesday, pizza is half price for single and combination toppings.
The Central boasts the best draft beer selection in town for those who don't take the term "pizza and beer" lightly.
Bill Fuller and Mark Hannon proudly welcome you to the Central Cafe. We strive to provide excellent service, top quality food and an enjoyable atmosphere, in keeping with the tradition of our "hometown" cafe.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you.
